The Outreach Program for Soccer
Ages 4 and above
Winter Season Coming Soon!
US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer volunteers. The program is design to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, who has a cognitive or physical disability. Our goal is to enable the young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the community.
Marie Ashby heads up the TOPSoccer program that runs both in the summer and winter. Each season is organized in a way to bring fun and enjoyment to your child while involve in an athletic activity. Exercise and social awareness are some of the benefits you will see in TOPSoccer programs.
With the growing number of TOPSoccer programs in Alaska, we are excited to start forming teams to compete against other clubs and organizations. Each year, we will try to send a team to the Alaska Youth Soccer State Cup TOPSoccer Showcase.
We are always looking for volunteers. How do I participate? Contact our Program Director, Marie Ashby at (907) 727-4905 or e-mail her at email@example.com to become a volunteer coach or Buddy.
A TOPSoccer Buddy is an invaluable volunteer. The TOPSoccer buddy is not a player and does not score goals. A TOPSoccer Buddy can be a caregiver, aide, family member, same-aged peer, teenager or adult.
The role of the Buddy may include but not be limited to:
Enables player to participate/play
Assists/Creates/Directs/Guides/Teaches in a FUN but learning environment
Continuously monitor/assist the player
Role varies widely depending upon needs of the player
Interact with players, coaches, & parents
