Activities during the Far North Invitational:
Food Drive for the Food Bank of Alaska. Bring a caned, boxed, or jarred item to donate to the Food Bank of AK. Your donated item will grant you free admission into our World Cup Viewing Room. We will be playing World Cup games, past and present, in the Chalet at Kincaid during Far North. We encourage all athletes to help our local families in need by bringing a non perishable food item daily into the World Cup Viewing Room.
Purchase your MLS Raffle Tickets at the Tournament Headquarter Tent at the Kincaid Soccer Complex! Signed MLS items will be raffled off during the closing ceremony. Tickets are $1 per ticket or 6 for $5!
Every Coach will nominate a “North Star” of the tournament that will be honored at the Closing Ceremony. Coaches turn in the name of your North Star to the HQ tent by Saturday at 8:00pm. Coaches will select 1 player from their team as their North Star. Coaches will choose this player at their discretion based on attitude, effort, or performance.
- The Spirit of the North Award is the Sportsmanship Award for the Far North Invitational. This award will be given to 1 team in the Boys division and to 1 team in the Girls division that stand out by showing respect to the game and one’s opponents.
Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic will be providing an Athletic Trainer to assist Far North athletes throughout the entire Tournament. Look for the AFOC Tent next to Headquarters.
- The Closing Ceremony will take place from on Sunday in the ConocoPhillips Soccer Stadium directly following the U15-U19 Boys championship game. Come early to the ceremony and watch some great soccer!
- During the Closing Ceremony; First place teams from every age group will receive their trophy, First and second place teams will pick up thier medals, Under 10 teams will pick up the participation medals, Tournament North Stars will be announced for every team, the Spirit of the North awards will be announced, and the MLS drawing will take place
