Street Soccer Camp – Anytime, AnywhereMarch 29, 2013 | Posted by Robert DeVassie
Last year, AYSC invited Calle Underground (CU) Tecnico to run a camp up here in Alaska; and to our surprise the camp was done in the parking lot of De la Vega. The camp had lived up to its movement, to bring soccer back to the streets and play anytime, anywhere. The kids loved this style of technical drills and small-sided games on pavement. A unique style of ball control and technical movement needed to manipulate the ball and fake out the opponent.
Now, back by popular demand, CU Tecnico will be up here again June 3 through the 7 to run another street soccer camp at the AT&T Sports Pavilion parking lot. CU is excited to bring the game to the streets of Anchorage this summer. To give back the game to the kids, so all they need is a ball to play. CU wants to help kids experience the fun of playing for fun, while developing a high level of technical skills that the pros learned when they played in the streets. By the end of the week, everyone will know what it means “anytime anywhere.”
